The practice was not built with disabled access in mind, however, we are fortunate to have level access to both our surgeries and a downstairs toilet which is large enough to allow wheelchair access. Wheelchair access is also possible to both our surgeries since we are situated in a victorian building with fairly wide doors. The narrowest doors are 29"/74cm wide. If you will be using a wheelchair wider than this please contact us beforehand to discuss suitable arrangements. We are not really equiped to carry out treatment with the patient seated in a wheelchair. We have "leg-break chairs", that is, ones in which the patient sits in a normal upright position before being laid back. This makes it much easier for a disabled person to transfer from their wheelchair which can be placed a few inches from the dental chair If you (or the patient, if you are a carer) are unable to transfer from a wheelchair to the dental chair please call us to discuss possible solutions.
